Recently we received this lovely letter of thanks from the son of a Fairfield resident following her passing, which put a smile on the faces of the care staff here at Fairfield who had looked after her.
Easter is a joyful time of year at Fairfield when we follow traditions like Easter eggs, spring flowers, cards and church services. Easter is usually spent with families and so we make sure those residents not able to see their own families spend Easter with their Fairfield family.
Fairfield is holding two open days on Saturday 21 April and Wednesday 2 May from 10am to 4pm for prospective residents and their families as well as any interested party who would like to see inside the new residential care home on the Banbury Road in North Oxford.
Fairfield residents love having visits from animals but never before have we had some penguins come to say hello! Penguins Pringles and Charlie have both been specially trained to work as therapy animals and happily enjoying being stoked and patted as well as sitting on laps and being cuddled.
Fairfield welcomed some unusual feathered visitors when we enjoyed a visit from Al's Owls as part of our busy activities programme. Alan Charlett of Al's Owls is a regular visitor to Fairfield residential care home and this time he brought in three of his hand-reared owls to show us.
Christmas at Fairfield is a very special time of year when we enjoy some delicious festive Christmas menus. Our chef prepares the food in house and delights in treating us to traditional Christmas dishes that help us to celebrate the festive season.
