Admissions
Fairfield is a home for the active elderly and aims to preserve the concept that residents should regard Fairfield as their home, thus retaining their right to independence, dignity and privacy.
Fairfield is a residential home for elderly people, providing long-stay accommodation as well as rooms for short-stay respite care.
Fairfield is registered with Oxfordshire County Council as a residential home for the elderly, not a nursing home, and therefore new residents will only be accepted if they are mobile and independent. We acknowledge that the need for increased levels of assistance may increase over time and we endeavour to allow residents to remain with us indefinitely by providing levels of care to suit each individual for as long as possible.
Our bookable short-stay accommodation is available for respite care to relieve carers or families for holidays or simply to provide a break.
I am always impressed by the level of professionalism and care provided. The staff are genuinely warm, friendly, nurturing, attentive and good humoured.
FAQ
We hope that you will find the answers to many of your questions within our FAQ’s, but if you have any other queries or would like further information, please email us at [email protected]
There are fire resistant requirements for soft furnishings like chairs, and your electrical items will need to be tested.
We offer a full programme of activities that residents are encouraged to partake in if they are of interest to them. Art classes, informal lectures and talks, poetry readings, quizzes as well as static exercise classes and knitting groups. We also have regular visits from local schools and choral groups and we enjoy a good relationship with UNIV students who enjoy coming to chat to residents. Fairfield will always be keen to facilitate residents’ interests, so if you have an activity in mind please mention it to one of our Activities Coordinators.
The existing residents moved into the new Fairfield on 3rd July 2018, followed by the new residents who had reserved rooms. There are still a few rooms available for long term care or we have two rooms for bookable short term respite care.
Yes. We have a beautiful outlook onto the garden from the huge floor to ceiling windows that let the outside in. There is an established orchard and a rose garden as well as a grass area and there are plenty of seats for residents to sit and enjoy the outside.
